Dr. Huh Joon(Heo Jun)
Huh Joon/Heo Jun( 1539 – October 9, 1615) was a legendary doctor during the reigns of King Seonjo(1597–1608) and Gwanghaegun and(1608–1623) of the Joseon(Korea) dynasty. He saved a lot of lives with acupuncture and herbs. He also wrote several medical books, but his most noted achievement is Donguibogam( 東醫寶鑑 :Treasure of Eastern Medicine), which contributed to the expansion of Korean Medicine among the general public by introducing herbs and method which ordinary people could easily access and follow. This work spread throughout East Asian countries and regarded as a classic of Oriental medicine.
